Happy spring my loves! This past week has been the most beautiful week on campus. It's my first spring in Philadelphia, and while DC sets a very high bar in terms of springtime florals, I haven't been disappointed in the slightest. The trees on Penn's campus are absolutely beautiful! The weather has also been perfect - high 60s and 70s with lots of sunshine. It's been such a joy to study outside and walk down Locust beneath all the flowering trees. We've even got some leaves on some of the trees (which is bittersweet; I really don't want the blooms to go away!). But by far my favorite spot on campus has been the gardens at the Penn Museum. I've visited twice in the past week and each time I'm totally blown away by how gorgeous the landscaping is. It's a great peaceful place to sit, and surprisingly not very crowded.

The highlight of my spring wardrobe has been bringing out this gingham bag from Neely & Chloe. I featured Neely & Chloe in a post about new brand discoveries last summer, and I've been in love with their bags ever since. I was lucky enough to receive one this past winter and couldn't wait to bring it out in the springtime. It's one of their Mini Lady Bags in a gorgeous yellow gingham. My adoration of gingham is no secret, but I actually (shockingly) don't own any yellow gingham. This bag was the perfect addition to my spring repertoire, and I'm happy to be slowly but surely expanding my bag collection with high-quality pieces. They no longer make the gingham version of the bag, but they have a collection of equally gorgeous solids. The construction of my Lady Bag is amazing, and I would highly recommend the line! It easily fits my sunglasses, phone, wallet and a small makeup pouch - the perfect everyday size for me. The gold hardware and removable strap also add so much to the design; I love that you can detach the shoulder strap and carry the bag by the handle for a vintage look, or reattach it for more practical, hands-free wear. Hats off to Neely & Chloe for designing and making such a unique, fun and high-quality piece that I know I'll treasure for years to come.

I'm also bringing back these J.Crew pants from last season. I lived in these last summer; they're the easiest, most comfortable alternative to jeans (especially when it's too hot to wear skin-hugging pants, but shorts aren't appropriate). I'm so happy to say that the style has returned to Crew's collection this season, but with front pleating that (dare I say it) makes it even more flattering than the pair I own. If you've had your eye on them, pick them up before they sell out again!
